Perfect Corn on the Cob for a Crowd

I love the taste of fresh cooked corn on the cob. It's a relatively easy and inexpensive side that almost everyone loves.

But how can you make the buttering of these delicious ears easy on your guests?

It's simple.  First husk and clean your ears of corn. Either break them in half or leave them whole. Place them in a large pot of water and put it on the stove. Boil and add salt. Once cooked, place a few pats of butter into the pot. The butter will float to the top. So when people pull out the ears of corn, each cob will get a full coating of hot butter. Add some salt and pepper and you're ready to go.

Now how's that for a shortcut?

Moms, what are your favorite quick and easy sides to serve during the holidays?

this sounds messier than letting the guests butter their own corn.

quick & simple sides?  Steamed veggies are probably my favorite.

Mmmmmm but there is nothing like buttering your own corn. I do not see it as messy!! We serve lots if veggies during the holidays.

My kids love corn on the cob but it's not something I made in the winter.

Easy side ... Asparagus roasted with a little extra virgin olive oil and garlic

Good idea.  We always just butter our own corn. I often do steamed veggies as a quick side.
