Kick Off Your Resolutions With a Healthy Energy Smoothie
Something about the overindulgence of the holiday season really inspires me to make promises to myself to be a better, more in-control version of myself once the new year begins. "No more chocolates after New Years", I whisper to myself in the dark as I rip open another Godiva chocolate bar. What I mean to say is, I have been surviving off of pure sugar for over a week now and I'm ready to wean myself off. If you are feeling the same way, try making this nutrient-packed smoothie for breakfast on New Year's day. You'll feel better for it.
1 1/2 cup almond milk
2 hand fulls fresh spinach leaves
1 cup frozen blueberries
2 tablespoons chia seeds
Throw all ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth. Add more almond milk if you want a thinner consistency. This smoothie can pass for a light breakfast. Enjoy!
