 Homemade Peanut Butter

You can make your own.

Ingredients

2 cups unsalted, roasted shelled peanuts

    1 tablespoon peanut oil

    1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)

Tips

Add sweetener (honey or maple syrup) or spices(cinnamon, ginger, or pumpkin pie spice) to the finished peanut butter.

Directions

1. Place all ingredients in blender or food processor. Blend until desired texture is reached.

2. Place in airtight container and refrigerate unused portion.

Makes 8 (2 tablespoon) servings.

Depending on the peanuts, you don't always have to add oil. Try first without and add a little if needed.

We have a local grocery store that has different nuts and you can grind them yourself too.

I like that idea....we don't have that option at our grocery store, just for coffee

Our local grocery has different fresh ground nut butters, but they do the grinding, extra crunchy or smooth or somewhere in between.

Sounds good, not sure I'd want to do it myself since we don't use much peanutbutter.
