If we can't use nail polish with formaldehyde when pregnant then why is it ok for them to inject our newborn babies with it?

I can't find the blog I originally read, it listed each company. Carter's I remember was "safe" even though it still recommends wash before wear, Gymboree had it though, I always thought their material was weird and if my daughter wears it new she gets a rash, even after being washed she has to wear it over a Carter's onsie... we love Carter's in our house...
