What kinds of books do you encourage your children to read?
My boys are still young so dinosaurs, trucks, cars, anything that has to do with transportation they love. My children also love books about animals tehy both love animals very much (like their momma) blushes, LOL..
I encourage them to read fairy tales, and poetry too so that's going well for us.
I know this doesn't answer your question, but today I just picked up Nathaniel Branden's The Psychology of Self-Esteem. I'm juxtaposing it with Ayn Rand's The Virtue of Selfishness, so I'm definitely using these two to work on improving my parenting and how I help DD construct her self-esteem.
I've emailed Branden in the hopes of learning about any parenting books as well as books for children he would recommend.

I encourage her to read anything she wants. She likes the many fairies series, and biographies, and historical novels like the Little House books, Anne of Green Gables and the Am.Girls. She also likes Magic Tree House.
