Who were/are your role models?

Posted by   + Show Post

Growing up, did you have a role model or somone you looked up to?  What made them be a role model for you?  As an adult do you have a role model?

My greatest role model is my mom, Dr. Christian Osuagwu. She is a woman of grace and intelligence. She never stops learning. She got her PhD at age 61!!! If she can do it, I know I can! The greatest lesson I learned from her, she would always say to me, "Chisom, have a thousand ears and one mouth."  LOL!

Another favorite role model of mine was watching Claire Huxtable on The Cosby Show. Although, she was a fictious character played by Phylicia Rashad, she was an epitome of a confident and intelligent Black woman. For me growing up, it was refreshing seeing a Black woman reflected in such a positve light and not just as a cafeteria/cleaning lady.

My mom is and always will be my hero and role model. She raised four girls on her own and always put us first. She worked day and night to support us
