What is your daughter? So far my girls are 100% girly-girls! Not in the sense that they don't like to get dirty but they would prefer their little kitchen to mud pies.

Proud Navy Wife since 1/10/06; toddler girl Mother to McKenna since 12/11/08,  toddler girl McKaela since 5/27/10 & baby girl Maisie since 8/15/11.

It's so sad when people try to become something they are not.

My oldest, Hikari, is a Tomboy. She loves getting dirty, and clinbing trees and trying stunts.  She gives me heartattacks frequently!

My youngest, Allora, is a girly-girl.  She loves to play princess! She sings and dances!  She knows how to bat her eyes to get what she wants.

My daughter was such a girly girl from babyhood on, I didn't even BOTHER to buy her jeans, shorts or any kind of pants.  She wouldn't wear them.  It was dresses, skirts, or skorts only.  (Or swimsuits...she's a competitive swimmer, and has been since she was 8.)

But when she hit I think 7th / 8th grade, it was a total about face.  Now, she's more like me, and only wears skirts on special occasions.  She still prefers her skirts for her school uniform....but otherwise, it's jeans or shorts.  She's not much into makeup, and usually wears her hair loose or in a sloppy pony....again, except for special occasions.

I'd like to see her embrace her femininity more, but I figure she'll be like me in that aspect..she'll be in her twenties and independent before she comes into her own.

And we are SO okay with that!!

My daughter is a healthy balance of both. She loves to skateboard, do dangerous stuff, and hang with the boys. But she also is very particular about her dresses and skirts, always wears nailpolish, loves her dolls, and plays with her dollhouse daily.

I try not to label my girls.  I guess they are like me. I can be girly and I can be tough and athletic.  I can't say my girls are Tomboys.  They don't particularly like to get muddy, but they have when we go hiking, for example.  I guess if I were to label them, I would say they are athletes.

My daughter Ashley is a split. She loves having her hair done, putting on "lippies", lip gloss, and dressing up and then running outside to play soccer, ride her quad, wrestle around, she is the one with no fear and is way more of a daredevil than her brothers (who are both older than her).

I was a tom boy.  Still am.  My daughter is more of a tom boy, which i am proud of!  She wears a little makeup, but isn't into dresses or pink.  Has more "guy" friends than "girl" friends.
