Do you or will you care if your daughter *gasp* calls a boy?? I was not allowed to call boys growing up. Well, I say "not allowed" but it was more encouraged not to. It "sent the wrong message", was the reasoning.

No, as long as she's well behaved and respectful it won't bother me.

My daughter is 15 and it doesn't bother me at all.  Since nowadays they all have cell phones and such.  It is easier for them to talk in private.  unlike when we were kids.  1 house phone and it was in the center of the house where every word could be heard by everyone!

When my daughter gets older, I won't care if she calls a boy. As far as dating goes, that's a different story. I wasn't allowed to date until I was 16 and as much as I hated it when I was a teen, it was definitely good for me. It made me focus more on learning who I was an what I was about and not so much on impressing the guys. Having a friend that is a boy is fine, but she won't be dating until she's 16.

1 mom liked this

Calling a boy now is not the same as it was when I was growing up. She has lot of friends who are boys, but no boyfriends yet.

I agree, it isn't the same. I was just thinking about it and thought I would ask. Haha

I assume I'll be ok with it (DD's only 3), but my husband told me he hopes DD is gay so we won't have to "worry about boys." :)

No, I wouldn't have a problem with it.  Though recently a boy has been calling her.  It is a little odd to me, but I guess she's growing up!
