Would you take your kid into an active volcano?

A dad is taking a lot of heat over his idea for a father/daughter adventure -- he brought his nine-year-old into an active volcano!

He says he wanted her to try new things and she says she absolutely loved it. But child safety experts say he put her life at risk.

Where do you draw the line between adventure and danger with your kids? We'd also love to hear about the wildest thing you've ever done with them (or that your parents ever did with you when you were younger!).

I don't think I'd take that chance.

If there is a high risk of danger, my kid isn't doing it. No matter how cool. I've heard of a couple stories like this where the parents say they want their kids to be adventurous etc. Well is it really worth the fun if you get your kid killed?

I've always been very protective of my children.

My parent's however-let me ride in a car with no seat belt, used lead paint, didn't slather me with sunscreen, let me play outside with no supervision, lol-just a different time.

I wouldn't even go in an active volcano.  I may allow someone we trust to take the kids into one, but that is iffy too.
