We decided in January that I'm staying home with DD for at least 5 more years, so we're moving closer to DH's work. It just makes sense. Why have that awful commute if it's not necessary? Plus, all that rent you'll never get back? Would rather build equity.
Have you moved before? How did it go? We've moved 7 times since we've been together. I hope we don't have to move for at least 5 years.
Quoting SweetLuci:I feel for you. It really is a pain. Are you moving close by or a distance?
Quoting SlightlyPerfect:
I loathe the process of moving.

I've only moved 7 times in my entire life, but they were all big moves-5 different states. The last was 13 years ago, only about 7 miles-but an accumulation of many years. I don't know which would be harder, moving often or moving after many years, but many of the same things-just organizing and packing and then unpacking. I hated it, but when you're taking a step forward, like you're doing by going from renting to buying, and closer to your DH's work, it's well worth it.

The thing is, we've never moved with a kid in mind before, so that's all new. Like, research the school district, check out the neighborhood, follow the local taxes and politics, etc. That's all new. What we've chosen is worth it. And I am not ashamed to admit that's my self-esteem talking. :)

I want to finish this bowl of oatmeal in front of me... but I am to stuffed... but it looks so good...
(and by oatmeal, think uncooked-with peanut butter and chocolate involved ;-) )
When you know you're doing the right thing, just keep up positive self-talk. Good luck with the meeting, and give it time for her to get to know him. Take it slow.

My girl is meeting my boyfriend for the first time tomorrow. I know I'm making the right choice. But I have to keep reminding myself I'm not my mom, I'm not parading a different guy around the house every other day.
Awww. That's a sad feeling.

I am not ready for summer to be over. My oldest starts first grade and my baby starts Pre-K. Not quite ready for this yet...
