You bear a given name, but always have the choice to use another. If you have not done...
So,how do you feel about that name.
My full name is Whitney, I always go by Whit. I am not a Whitney at all.
Also, all the Whitney's in my family (and the family members I was names after) have been male so it kind of sucks :(
I also have a male cousin named Whitney.
I have two brothers name Wesley and Austin. Why couldn't one of them have been Whitney?
Actually I love that name Antoinette Marie, My hairdresser's name is Toni.
Quoting tayanddyl:
I hate my name! It's Antoinette Marie, not creative at all and too damn long! I use Toni for almost everything (even my business)
LOL.

My name is OK. I wish they had spelled it differently. My maiden name was really long, so mom gave dad the option of the two shorter spellings. Stacy or Staci I always wished they had picked the "i" ending or "ie" ending. But dad picked the male spelling...
My full name is Stacy Renelle. Its different, and I kinda like that, it means Ressurection and Springtime. and I was born the day before Easter so it worked out pretty cool.
My full name is Megan Elizabeth. I really like it, I always have. It is pronounced "May-gan" but growing up I got "Me-gan" a lot, I was ok with that. However, in first grade I had a Sunday school teacher who always called me "ME-gan" no matter how many times I corrected her. She would come back with "How do you spell "me?" I would answer "M-E", she would say "Right. Now, how do you spell your name?" "M-E-G-A-N." "Right, so you pronounce it "ME-gan". "No." LOL I finally gave up and was ME-gan for a year. haha
I used the nickname that my brother's called me when they were younger and couldn't say Megan for a while in college but that never really stuck. It was Maggie. It was one of those things that one friend started calling me that and then it took off and then it died. LOL I just answer. May-gan, Me-gan, ME-gan, Maggie..whatever. LOL I do love my given name though.
