I was just watching the Rachael Ray show and she had Shaq as a guest star.  He was mentioning that he's a part of a program that Dove has for young men.  I thought that was neat since I also have a son.  I forgot what they call the program but it was helping them to be comfortable in their own skin.  Shaq's such a great guy!!

How cool! I'm sure that Shaq had some issues as he was growing up because he is so big. When kids are bigger than average, people often think they are older and expect them to act beyond their real years.

I'm experiencing this first hand with my oldest daughter. She is only eight years old, but looks older and is developing alarmingly fast. I always have to remind people (even myself) that she is only 8 and therefor has a mentality of an 8 year old.

I know what you mean. Pleasse get the book The Care and Keeping of You. It's an American Girl book.  It's all about body changes and development for young girls. I loved reading it too. It helped me with conversation about delicate issues.
