I often make up stories at bedtime, and one night she asked me to tell her about the day she was born. We had been to a baby shower and one of the things we did was each mom told about the day her baby was born. We had been told in advance no horror stories or anything that would upset the expectant mother. The kids were playing in the other room, and then we realized they had become very quiet. They were all listening. So that night I expanded the story and started with Once upon a time there was a man and a woman who were very lonely because they didn't have a child....of course the story ends with the baby being born and being named. She never tires of hearing it. I think it makes her feel loved and wanted.
Anyone else do this?
How cute.
Quoting TurboMom81:
I tell the story of Allora's birth alot, because it involves the two of them. Whenever I try to talk about HIkari's birth all they want to know is "where was Allora?" LOL

I have told them their birth stories many times. They all love hearing about it.
No. My dds birth story was traumatic for me so I try not to think about it.
We joke all the time about the day my dd was born. She came after 2 days of labor, 4 hours of pushing and then spent her first night screaming. We tell her that is when we knew she was going to keep us on our toes.
That is an awesome baby shower idea!
I told my oldest daughter about when she was born a few days before her baby sister was born. I think it is such a fun thing to hear about. My birth was on video so I got to see it not just hear about it and I wish I had that for my girls.
