My MIL's 60th birthday was on Sunday, and DH, DD and I flew in to surprise her! It was a very short trip, we got in on Saturday early afternoon and left Monday evening. But it was really nice! Her sister (and her husband, daughter and her 2 kids) all surprised her earlier in the day, then we showed up :) And that night one of FIL's sisters and her husband came too and we had a nice little party/barbeque!
Everyone else left Sunday morning, so it was just the ILs and us the rest of the time. And we just did our usual Nebraska stuff like making shirts (lol, that's not exclusive to Nebraska, but MIL has a custom design business, so we usually make t-shirts when we're there), riding on the tractor, etc.
My one regret about the trip is that it definitely should have been longer :(
Oh, and on the flight home, we had a connection in Minneapolis. The plane we were supposed to take had a maintenance issue and it took them 2 hours of working on it before they decided there was nothing they could do. It took another 1/2 hour before they found another plane for us. I do realize that sitting in an airport grumbling is a zillion times better than dying in a fiery crash, but it was still pretty miserable. Especially with a 3 year old who got 4 hours less sleep than normal and no nap!
We didn't get home until 3am.
But we're safe! And all of us are looking forward to the next trip out there!
I want to post pictures, but we didn't take many with our camera, and I forgot to upload the ones MIL took to our flashdrive, so I guess we'll have to wait! LOL!
How was everyone else's weekend?
