Things to Do in North Carolina for the Week of 9/17

Are you finally in the swing of things now that we are a few weeks into a new school year? My family is beginning to adjust to our new routine and we are ready to do something on the weekends besides recover from the hectic week. 

We have got our eye on the North Carolina Zoo and perhaps a visit to a local pumpkin patch. As fall begins, there's a lot to do in our state. Here are a few of this week's highlights:

Mountains

Music on the Rock Concert Series

Watch the Catawba Militia recreate the sights and sounds of post colonial citizens militia muster with small-arms drills, camp-life activities, and hands-on activities for children.

Family Farm Tour
Various farms across Western NC are participating
September 22-23, 1PM - 6 PM
Learn how food is grown, interact with farm animals, and meet communitry food producers at farms across the state, many of which are normally closed to the public.

5th Annual Tiaras and Treasures
The Children's Museum of Wilmington
