LOL! If it's that small of an amount, the PBS won't miss the funding anyway, will they? Big Bird needs to get off of his big fluffy tail and look into what all of the other networks do...ADVERTISING. It's what all the big kids are doing these days.
It is just one little dot but if you take other programs which look like little dots and cut those too, then it will be a big dot and make a big difference. Of course I also think the bigger programs needs some cuts as well. America is in real financial trouble and we've got to start somewhere in order to make it better.
Quoting rebeccap128:It would really be a shame to see PBS lose funding. Because they are not beholden to advertising clients they can produce the type of shows that they do. Once advertising steps in it changes things dramatically
That's the mentality of people and nations with huge debts! But little bits add up to BIG FAT DEFICITS! If you have $1.25 in your pocket, you can't spend $1.27...and if you keep doing it, you will end up in a serious problem...and we are! Our country is in a serious problem!
I agree with this, and I also want to add that we need to teach our childrent to live within their means! Not to keep up with the Jones and Smith family. They don't need the playstation, and they don't need Big Bird, they need Mom, Dad, Food, Shelter...but not TV, and our children don't need Debt!
Quoting JustThe10ofUs:Parents should educating their children...not big bird.
He also wants to put caps on the interest you can deduct for your mortgage and do away with deductions you can claim from your health and dental insurance. He also wants to completely remove all taxes on capital gains...which is the way he and his millionaire/billionaire friends make their money. He made 20 million last year from capital gains and this would mean he wouldn't have to pay ANY tax on it while you woud be limited to what you can deduct. There's also talk about not allowing child care to be deducted and reducing the deduction amount for each child. NOW........do you think you're little dots are adding up in your favor?
