For New Year's Day I'm planning on making a ham in the crockpot but I've never made one like this before. Does anyone have any tips or tricks?

I've never cooked a ham in the crock pot so here's a bump for you.  I'd be interested to know if it works well for hams.

Store bought ham???
Make sure it has plenty of moisture.
If it doesn't have a lot of fat maybe wrap it in bacon or fat back. Says my sons dad. Lol. He does the cooking normally.

My friend does it all the time...only way she's ever cooked one in fact. There are some great recipes and tips on Pintrest.
