The Appalachian Trail

The kids learned about this in school today.  I've always wanted to hike it.  It's something on my bucket list.

Has anyone in this group hiked it all or in part?  I'd love to hear about it.  Where did you start/finish?   What kind of wildlife did you encounter?

it is some rough terrain where i am from, i went when i was younger, but where i am from is alot of cliffs and fallen rocks you have to look out for , i love trails i especially loved going to boone and hiking to the waterfalls

My husband thru hiked in 2000. I have only section hiked. I work for an outfitter and have been preparing people to hike the trail for 9 years now. Let me know when you are ready to go!

It took him 6 months. He has also hiked the Pacific crest which is Mexico to Canada through California Oregon and Washington.

I have only hiked locally on the AT. Georiga, NC and VA sections. I would love to do it one day when the kids are older.
