How do you heat your house?

And what does it cost you annually? Clearly size will affect this.

we heat primarily with wood.  We have a wood stove on our first floor in our open concept layout.  We do have an oil furnace and its typically set at 60. Anything you want above that...add more wood. The furnace doesn't really come on during the day...typically once or twice at night.  We burn approximately 3 cords.  So approx $900 in wood...and the oil tank gets filled once a year for about another $800 or so.  We've got about 3400 sqft.

We burn wood.  We get "grapple" load of wood.  Depending on the size of the logs- its 400-800 dollars. Its a lot of work, we have wood chopping and stacking parties.  Usually will last us 2+ seasons.

We do have oil- but dont use much.

Oil..about 3K per year..we do a "lock in", which puts us on a budget pay becuase we commit to so many gallons. It's a 10 month year...we pay $308/month that includes a service plan too.

Propane
I want to change my gas fire place to a wood one
But my home is about 3200 sq ft plus a heated garage
We spend about $2000 a year
We keep it set on 68 day and 65 night
If its a brutal day we turn the fireplace on it uses less propane than raising the heat
