Tipping questions

So, I never know if I'm supposed to tip, or how much?
Applebee's takeout- do you tip?
Hairdresser- how much?
Nail salon?

Anything else/other services you can think of?

I start at 20% for all of the above. If service at a restaurant is super horrible I drop it accordingly.

I don't eat at Applebee's so I can't help with the takeout question lol But I would imagine that at any place where YOU go to pick up the food you order, tipping isn't required.

If I walk in and pick it up, nothing. If its a pale that walks it to my ad it depends on the eweather but usually just a few dollars. I haven't had my hair or nails done in years! But usually only $5-10 but I don't do costly time consuming things either. Usually under $30 so it's like 20% or more

Whatn is considered over-tipping.
Tomorrow I'm getting cut and dye, because its multiple colors and such I'm assuming it will be at least 100... So how much should I tip?

Btw- I love my hairdresser

Take out I don't tip.

All others I tip 20% minimum and up depending on service.

idk, but to me an example of overtipping would be to pay a barber $20 for a $14 buzz. $6 tip is 30%..that's a bit much.

I don't tip for take out that I pick up, no matter where I get it. 99, Applebee's, local pizza shop..etc..I wouldn't tip someone for walking 10 feet to my car, so I walk in and pick it up.

For delivered food (to my house), I'll give the driver a few bucks..about 10% of the bill.

Servers at restaurants I tip between 15%-20%. I've tipped as much as 25% but the service has to be pretty awesome for me to do that. I waitressed thru college, so I feel like my expectations are reasonable. I expect from any server what I'd do for a table when I served.

My hairdresser owns the salon, so I tip her 10-15%..someone told me once that salon owners generally do NOT get tipped because they are the owner..but I tip mine in that range.

Nails, 15-20%, depending on how beat up my nails are because she doesn't charge for fixing a broken nail.

I also don't tip at Dunkin Donuts, or any place like that, that puts out a tip jar, because they earn at least minimum wage. Restaurant servers earn less than min wage, and tips are meant to supplement the reduced hourly wage.

I still tip for takeout. Usually its a waitress that gathers and brings out your food. Sometimes its a host- but its hard to tell.

Nails etc.. I don't tip *as* much but I think they make more hourly. (?) Usually 20%.

I tip high for food because I used to have that job. It sucks- and they hardly make anything hourly.

Hairdresser, I tip $5 cause I go to hair cuttery or great clips

Nail salon -- don't go.
