This info graphic is circulating which says you don't have to donate a ton of money to help a candidate win:
Have you ever volunteered for a campaign?
Some beach, somewhere...
Yes I have. DH and I volunteered to help the son of a good friend of mine when he ran for county commissioner, 4 years ago and again this year. It has been very inspiring for see how an individual can make a difference. The first time, it was a small group of friends and family, and he won by only 70 votes over a person with lots of money backing them. This time the campaign has been very nasty, but since he did such a good job, he has more volunteers this time. I didn't previously know that lots of the people waving signs are paid to do that. That was eye opening.
No, it is very hard working in my office to be involved with any specific candicate/party.... as much as we all are entitled to our own opinions as "voters", the voters view the employees of the elections office as that and that only....
So if they see me out at a Rep function or Dem function... or see me out supporting whatever candidate... they just can't imagine that I can do my job fair and without bias.
I want to add that my own boss is on the ballot this past primary and this Nov ballot... I can't even publicly support or not support her for this reason....
It sucks....
It is amazing what goes into these campaigns and elections..... WAY more than people realize.

I never have, but my parents did volunteer for the DNC when I was little (that's how I met Gary Hart, lol).
I help out with one of our attorneys, Darren Soto, who's a state representative in Orlando. He's running for Senate. District 14.
I haven't helped with the presidential campaigns though.
