Hubby & I are going on our first vacation with dd & we are set to fly. My mom tells me to give her a bottle just as the plane is taking off so she won't be bothered when her ears pop. But what if she is not hungry? Or sleeping? Will binky be able to acomplish the same goal? We are setting out on Friday so any info is helpful. Thank you all in advance.

It could if she's gonna suck it. To be safe, I would try to keep her a little hungry or thirsty. My son or daughter never had an issue with ear popping though and they both first flew btw 3-9 months. She'll probably be fine. Have a safe flight and a great trip!

Thanks again for the replies & the info. I'm so glad it will. One less thing to worry about. It's hard work trying to make sure she is gonna have a good time.

I think the swallowing is really the key. But a binky is probably better than nothing.
