Two hunters looking for firewood followed the scent of what they initially thought was a dead deer but quickly discovered that it was skeletal human remains.
With the remains were blue Vans shoes, duct tape and blue jeans, which match the description of what Christian Aguilar was wearing when he was last seen alive.
The location was 8 miles off State Road 24 in rural Levy County, about 60 miles southwest of Gainesville. Investigators are almost positive that it is the body of Christian Aguilar but they have to do forensic testing to make an official confirmation.
It’s hard to imagine the sadness and the relief that Christian’s family must be feeling right now. The only thing harder than knowing that someone you love has died has to be not knowing for sure and therefore not being able to say a proper goodbye in your heart and mind. That has got to be torturous.
"Our prayers have been heard," Carlos Aguilar, Christian’s father, said in a press conference on Saturday. "We as a family believes that Christian has been found, but we want to wait until the authorities confirm it. Our family is going to be grieving until the... confirmation, and at that moment we are going to have the honor of taking Christian back home and have his funeral.
"If it wasn't for the prayers, for the support, for all the angels that came through and that they care about my family and that they care about a missing student..." 1
Now that the body has been found, I wonder if Pedro Bravo will eventually tell the true story of what happened on the night that he [allegedly] killed Christian.
Do you think that Pedro Bravo will come clean about the events leading up to Christian’s death. Do you think knowing the truth would be easier or harder for Christian’s family? Or do you think it doesn’t really matter, he’s gone either way?
