Petraeus/Kelley scandal in Tampa gets weirder

The scandal involving General Petraeus, his mistress (Paula Broadwell), and Jill Kelley of Tampa seems to keep developing more layers every day. Obviously it is getting a lot of news coverage here and it doesn’t look to die down any time soon.

As I rode my bike on Bayshore yesterday I saw all of the news trucks parked around the Kelley’s house. Reporters and camerapeople are just standing around all day waiting to get a shot of someone leaving or entering. I know stars deal with that all the time but we’re not used to seeing that kind of thing around here. I can’t imagine what it must be like to be under that kind of scrutiny.

Today I read that the Kelleys ran a questionable cancer charity, that Police calls to Jill Kelley's mansion include sister's pornography, abuse and stalking claims and that General John Allen, with whom Kelley shared more than 200 emails, some of which contained flirtatious content, could lose his job over it.

Wow, that is a serious can of worms that got opened. I have a feeling Jill Kelley might be regretting that she forwarded Paula Broadwell’s email to that FBI Agent right about now. Eek.

The good news is that despite stepping down from his role as CIA Director due to the scandal, General Petraeus will still be testifying before Congress about the Benghazi attacks that led to the death of  the U.S. ambassador and three other Americans.

Do you think General Allen will lose his job, too? Do you care about this or think it is a distraction?

My husband has worked and does work directly with both Generals. When he came home yesterday after I had learned of Gen. Allen's involvement, his exact words were. "He's done, his career is over too." It is extremely disappointing that two incredible military leaders could be brought down by the simple fact that they thought with their "manly parts, not smarts" smh. This is a disgusting circus. I would love to see the media pay just as much attention to the Benghazi cover up as they have to the sex lives of these men. Especially after Obama finally admitted today that he, "the White House" sent Susan Rice out on the media tour a week after the attacks to peddle the bogus YouTube video theory. Even though it is beyond evident he and everyone else involved was well aware it was a premeditated terrorist attack. That is what I am interested in hearing about and I have an idea that Patreaus will shed a lot of light on the subject.
