Good news for minimum wage workers in Florida: The New Year means your pay just increased.

With the start of 2013, Florida's minimum wage increased by 12 cents an hour to $7.79.

The increase is expected to have the biggest effect on drivers, toll collectors, security guards and hourly workers in the hotel industry.

A recent study by the National Employment Law Project estimates the increase will add more than $46 million to Florida's gross domestic product.
