Missing 4 years, age progression photo released of Haleigh Cummings
A new photo of Haleigh Cummings shows what the missing girl, who disappeared four years ago, might look like today as a 9-year-old.
Four years after the little girl’s disappearance, the age-progressed picture from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children was released.
Cummings was reported missing in the early morning hours of Feb. 10, 2009, from her family's Putnam County home. Her father's girlfriend,
Misty Croslin, said she put the 5-year-old girl to bed the previous night.
She said she woke up that morning and discovered Cummings was missing.
Detectives with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office would later focus their investigation on Croslin.
"She definitely holds some key information that she hasn't come forward on," Lt. Johnny Greenwood said in a 2010 interview.
Croslin has denied having any role in Cummings' disappearance. She is now serving a 25-year sentence for drug trafficking. Her ex-husband and Cummings' father, Ronald Cummings, is also serving a prison sentence for the same crime.
Cummings has never been found. Sheriff Jeff Hardy has said the girl is likely dead, and his agency is treating the investigation as a homicide.
Her case is still listed as active on the Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida website. Anyone with information is asked to call them at 1-888-277-TIPS.
