We want to take our kids camping for the first time but DH and I have never been camping in FL. What are some of the best family camping sites around? Preferably wooded places with some water play around (beach, clean river, etc), and maybe a kids' playground or other family activities.

Hi! There are several recommendations in this thread from the Resource sticky post here on the group: Favorite Campgrounds in Florida

Well, Kyle had his first sleepover last night at his friend's house and it was successful! :) Can't wait to hear all about it when I pick him up.

Only went to Ginnie Springs for my first camping. I enjoyed it but I did not like the spring water.

Thanks for suggestions everyone, and thanks for the forward to the sticky. We are leaning towards trying Disney for our first family camping experience. Looking at costs of other places around me I realized Disney is not that much more per night and has tons of fun entertainment opportunities. Might be worth it to just make their first experience super fun and memorable. :)
