I actually found a recipe from Pinterest that I want to try. Let me know how your jambalaya turns out. Good luck.

This is recipe that came on pkg of Cavanaugh Spicy sausage I have made it several times and was well received--I am going to type it as it is printed but am sure brand of chicken and how spicy it is will not affect it much at all

Chicken and smoked sausage Jambalaya   serves 4-6

1.5 lbs Tyson boneless skinless chicken breasts

1.5 lbs Cavanaugh Spicy smoked sausage

1/4 cup vegetable oil

1 Tablespoon chopped garlic

1.5 cups diced onion

1/2 cup diced bell pepper

1.5 cups long grain white rice

1/2 cup thin sliced green onion

1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley

3 cups Tyson chicken broth

salt and pepper to taste

cayenne pepper to taste (optional)

cut chicken into 1.5 to 2 inch pieces heat oil in large skillet over medium heat--add chicken pieces and cook till lightly browned. Slice smoked sausage into 1/4 inch pieces add to skillet , add onion and garlic, and bell pepper and continue to saute till onions become clear add rice green onion, parsley and stir well add chicken broth, salt n pepper, cayenne if using stir well bring to boil , reduce heat to low and let rice cook==about 45-60 minutes--the rice will have absorbed all the liquid by the end of cooking.

have never typed this into my computer --but now I have lol--we like this but cavanaugh spicy is very spicy have made it with smoked sausage that was not and was still good--will tell you something I have learned over the years--most recipes on pkgs are good as the maker wants you to like their product and will give you the best recipe they can find

nothing wrong with a mix --they are making some really tasty ones these days--I am a big fan of Sandra Lee and her semi homemade
