Bon Jovi to headline Obama event in Des Moines

DES MOINES, Iowa —

The Obama campaign announced Monday that Jon Bon Jovi will join local officials for a campaign event in Des Moines and Iowa City on Friday.

Free tickets are available at Des Moines, Iowa City and Cedar Rapids area offices starting Tuesday.

The events are designed to encourage Iowans to vote early.

The Des Moines event is scheduled to start at 6:45 p.m. in the Western Gateway Park at 12th and Locust St. in downtown Des Moines.
