Apparently the opening moves of the 2016 Presidential election are being made here in Iowa this week with the upcoming visit from rising Republican star Marco Rubio making a visit to attend Governor Terry Branstad's birthday party/fundraising even on Saturday (Governor Brandstad's birthday is apparently a hot ticket as last year all of the presidential candidates except Mitt Romney made an appearance at the event).
The event is seen as an early chance (really, really, really painfully early) for Republican hopefuls to begin courting Iowa Republican leaders and is another sign of the importance of Iowa in the national political scene.
I, for one, refuse to care though. You can't make me pay attention. Nope. Not yet. Catch you in 2015! Cory Booker/Elizabeth Warren 2016!
