We may have to move back to the area temporarily and it's been 5 years since I have lived in dsm. What areas are good family areas to live in and which schools are doing well?

Waukee, Southeast Polk, and Ankeny...in my opinion. Waukee has gotten huge, as has Ankeny but SEPolk is still a large school, too.
