do you think it will be a good thing?

It will be white shirts and navy pants/skirts or shorts.

i actually don't have a problem with kids having to wear school uniforms, although i woudl have hated it as a high schooler cos that was how i set myself apart from other kids :) in my younger grades when i had horrible fashion sense however and kids made fun of me, it would have been nice to be known for who i was instead of how much money my parents had to spend on clothes.

There is so much positive research for uniforms in schools... usually, in my opinion, people's reasons against it are so superficial and compare nothing to what happens statistically.

I 100% disagree with uniforms in public schools... My high school tried to do this and put it to a vote to the parents, it didn't pass...

However, if it's a private school, then that's their call.

I would not mind if  my son's school decided to have uniforms.

I don't like uniforms in schools, I think kids wearing want is a form of self expression and the personality of the child and should be encourage and that they should be their selfs, if that makes sense lol

I don't think a strict uniform policy is a good idea in a public school but maybe a dress code of sorts.

I would love that. It will make life as a parent so much easier and we won't be spending a fortune on kids clothes.

I can see both sides of this debate. It is really hard to control what older kids wear to school and most of the time it is pretty inappropriate. I would have hated to be the same as everyone else in high school to and probably would have rebelled. Now that I am a parent, and I work with preschoolers, I can see the benefit. There are so many kids that get made fun of simply because of what they do not wear. For some families it is really difficult to buy name brand clothes for their child so they do not get picked on. If the school had a uniform that everyone follows I think it would reduce the number of kids who get picked on based on what they wear to school

I went to private school from 6-12 grade and loved wearing the uniform. It was so nice not to wake up and worry what to wear every day. And I think lines about kids not being able to express themselves is complete BS. I had plenty of opportunity to wear my own clothes after school and weekends. School is a place for learning and if parents aren't giving their kids other outlets to express themselves, then that's their problem as a parent, not the school's.
