I think people need to relax

My take on Romney's PBS & Big BIrd comment was more of a joke I think then something to be taken so dag-gone serious! Yes, when making budget cuts, even on a personal level you start with luxury items like tv (at least we do). But I am pretty sure the Big BIrd comment was a joke because of who the moderator is. I mean if Obama had said that, everyone would be laughing.

The point is hes talking about bringing the country out of debt and cites defunding PBS as a means of doing so. PBS is .0016% of federal government spending. Defunding PBS will not help our country it will only take away a valued learning tool used by many, including schools. Sure comments have gotten taken out of hand with the big bird jokes, but bottom line is this guy has no idea how to fix anything.

He knows how to run businesses and we need a good business man I office. Obama has just raised prices on everything since he has been in. I mean gas is almost two dollars higher per gallon since he got in

While I agree it has been taken too far, gas is actually cheaper now than it was in 2008. I think the national average was over $4/gallon in 2008. I don't think fuel was a good comparison. Romney is only a good business man when it comes to personal profit, and I don't see how the government profiting more would help the middle class. Here's an article about fuel costs, and there are others also: http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-3460_162-57401650/face-the-facts-a-fact-check-on-gas-prices/

You are aware the president has no personal control over fuel prices right? There are several branches of governing that play a role here. The man can't waive a magic wand and make the cost of a barrel of gas go down. Supply and demand is much bigger then Obama.

Personally I believe you are no better then the people making big bird jokes. You are just mad because they're poking at your campaign man instead of the other side. If Obama was talking about budget cuts and referenced pbs republicans everywhere would run with it. Both sides say stupid things. Romney tends to say them more publicly, but it happens.

That being said I seriously hope the man doesn't think cutting funding to pbs would help the federal budget in any way. The presidential debate probably wasn't the best time to make that "joke."

We are exporting our gas higher this year then any other time sin e 1949. How can we say we have fuel shortage when our own natural resources are shipped overseas? Maybe if we paid attention to the lies from both side...Americans can start to demand excellence from those we put in charge of these vital resources

I agree, both sides lie, cheat, are influenced by others, have hidden agendas. A candidate who's non D or R may be more interested in the average American but we don't hear much about them. I feel it doesnt really matter who is in charge we will get screwed some how some way.

It may have been a joke but probably not the best idea to say. People really like Big Bird.
