Quoting froggynow3:I think it has to do with where you are raised. In the south we say SODA but since I moved up here there are more POPs everywhere

Quoting mom2thebestkid: pop for sure. Born and raised in Ohio
I grew up in New England and we called it soda. My husband was born and raised in Ohio and he says pop. I now call it pop, lol.
Grew up saying pop (from Ohio). Soda is that fizzy water without any flavor. Though when I went to college (in northern NY state), most of my friend's said soda.
As the lone Texan in the group, we say Coke.
Example: Waitress: "What can I get you to drink?"
Me: 'What kind of cokes do you have?"
Waitress: "Sprite, Dr. Pepper, Pepsi, Rootbeer etc...
Me: "I'll have a Dr. Pepper'
