Great for snacking on coming home from school (or going to school for that matter).
2 C mixed tree nuts (I use pecans and cashews). If you wish, you can try the nuts briefly by bringing a quart of oil to 360 F and dropping the nuts in in small batches. Remove with a "spider" or slotted spoon. Be careful, the nuts only take about 10 to 30 second to reach golden brown and delicious. :-)
1 C dried fruit (I use dried cherries). Anything you like is good, but large pieces, like apricots and such should be cut into bite size pieces
1 C jerky (I like to make beef jamacian jerk jerky, it's pretty awesome). Again, anything you like. Cut into bit size pieces.
Toss all of the ingredients in a large bowl. Add a few T coconut oil and toss to coat. Then add salt and pepper to taste, dry ground chilies, and
asam powder AMCHOOR POWDER (amchoor powder is unripe mangos that have been sliced, dehydrated, and powdered, it adds a wonderful sour-ish quality). You'll want to use around a teaspoon of the chili and 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of the asam powder. Taste and adjust as neessary to balance the flavoring - nothing dominating anything else.
STore in an airtight container for up to a month.
