Do you think this was politically motivated?

Sunday is a day to recuperate from the previous week, as well prepare for the week ahead. But nothing could have prepared one local woman for what greeted her as she walked out the door.

Sherryl Buckley was on her way to church around 8 a.m. Sunday morning when she found at least 100 plastic forks sticking up from her yard.

She believes that this was done because she has Obama signs in her front window, as well as Obama stickers on her car. Buckley told KKCO 11 News she feels like her voting rights have been compromised.

"You don't have the right to go into someone else's yard and voice your opinion. That's not where your constitutional rights are. They end at the property line," said Buckley.

Buckly said she is not intimidated by this gesture, but she just wants to feel safe in her own neighborhood. So far, she is taking no legal action.

Do you think this "forking" was because of her Obama signs? Or do you think she is reading waaaaaay too much into this? 100 forks is really not that many. We used to do stuff like this in high school. It was an affectionate gesture then! We tp'd and shaving creamed and forked our friends!

I was just wondering if she's a parent to teens, it really seems more like a kids' prank than anything politically motivated.

Who knows for sure.

I know I am scared that I have a Romney sign in my yard.  This election is very volatile.

This reminded me of this story....lol

A new weapon in the war for yard sign supremacy

One McCain supporter had a novel idea for how to prevent the traditional theft of campaign signs -- he electrified his.

There is something about a yard sign that’s more fundamental than a bumper sticker, more definitive than a pin, even more tangible than a t-shirt. A yard sign says “I claim this ground for my chosen candidates.”

There’s just one problem: Yard signs are really easy to steal.

And, like every year around this time, they are being stolen. Just last week 40 McCain-Palin signs were stolen from yards  in Cass County, Michigan, while 50 Obama-Biden signs were stolen in Madison County, Tennessee.

For months, this cold war of signs has raged across the nation, but now it seems to be getting dangerous. Early Thursday, a young Democrat attempting to replace a McCain-Palin sign in Shawn Turschak’s yard in Chapel Hill, North Carolina with one supporting Barack Obama met with a nasty shock.  Turschak, the victim of one too many previous thefts, had electrified his sign using the wires from his dog’s invisible fence. The incident was caught on tape, which you can see below.

I wonder if ours does. I've never seen the HOA rules (I rent) but I haven't seen any signs anywhere in the neighborhood. Kind of nice!

I guess it is hard to say.  It seems like more of a prank to me to then some political statement.  If it was a political statement it was a bad one because nobody knows if it was or wasn't so they didn't really accomplish much did they, lol.

Forking....I have to say, I had not heard of that before.  Hard to say if it was politically motivated.  Maybe if the forks were in a circle around the sign.  Or sticking in the sign...LOL

Hmmm, I have heard of 'flocking' with flamingoes. But forking? That is just cheap and annoying.
