The radio just said something about a body being found in Arvada.

I just saw a post in another group saying ABC news said it was Jessica. Anyone have an official update?

Arvada PD released this twenty minutes ago: Westminster and Arvada police continue to jointly work the crime scene at Pattridge Park, where a body was found Wednesday. Investigators have been working throughout the night and into today to positively identify the body. In the meantime, police canvasses and searches will continue in and around the location of Jessica Ridgeway's disappearance, as well as other nearby open space areas.

Official information on the Jessica Ridgeway case will only come from the Westminster Police Department. When we have more information that we can provide to the public and media, we will share it via Twitter and Facebook.

We thank our community for your support and patience during this investigation. We continue to seek tips in this case. If you think you may have information that will help investigators, please call 303-658-4336.

I just.

Can't deal.

I want to PUKE!

The only alternative I can think of is that it is an OLD body and has decomposed but...what are the chances a body would go undiscovered out in the open like that, there?

What I want to know is if this body isn't hers why hasn't another missing persons report been filed? I mean I'm sure they can pretty much tell within a short amount of time if the body has been dead longer than she's been missing by the rate of decomposition.

Oh yes. They can absolutely tell approximately how old a body is. Insect activity etc.

There could have been one from a nearby state:( There is still the car in Maine/ NH that was abandoned and linked to her.

I'm sorry if thise is repeated, but there was a news confrence about an hour ago and they came out and said that the body is not intact and there is missing body parts. That is why it is taking so long to id the body.

My heart goes out to who ever family this victim belongs too.

I can't believe someone would do such a horrific thing.

If the...head....is missing they can extrapolate the approximate age from the bones. Also I believe they can tell the sex from the shape of the pelvis. Obviously, if there is skin that has not degraded they may be able to tell race (I forget if they can tell race from non-facial bones.)

I studied anthropology and archaeology for two years. This stuff popped into my head.

My friend who almost has her MD says they can check the growth plates as well. Sooner or later, they will have clues to the identity of the body.
