ok mama's, if you could help by telling me what you drive and how much your registration was/is it would be extremely helpful!!
DH bought me a car for Christmas and registration is coming due...I need an idea of how much it MIGHT be. I called them today to see if the paperwork and what not was ready and she said it was, and that she can't give me a price of the registration but to "bring a few hundred..." A "few" to me is 3 or 4...
What do you think?

I doubt I will be helpful. DH's SUV and my car are both 1990's cars, so we pay around $75/year.
2008 Mariner, I don't remember how much that one was though because I had plates I rolled over.
DH has a Camaro that we paid $1500 for and I think the plates were around $230 for the registration. It was ridiculous. IDK If its everywhere in Colorado but we have "Road and Bridge" fees which bumps it up.
I love it but I am ready for an explorer. 3 kids in the back is rough sometimes=-/

A lot of it has to do with value of the vehicle so a newer vehicle will cost more. We have a 2001 GMC 2500 HD pickup that is $120 for registration and a 2004 2500 Dodge pickup that is $215.
Our truck has a fee based plate. It's a 95 half ton Chevy. Last summer, it was $165. Our car has the standard free plate. It is a 2002 Volvo sedan. It cost $65 to register.
From what your post says your inquiring on the cost to register and plate your car not insur it... I was told that it will never cost more then 25percent of the purchase price. I just got a new car a 2012 Volvo xc60 and we paid $900 for registration and plates. I would for sure count at least 500 bucks for a 2009 and if you have a license plate from a previous car that wasn't expired you can typically get a very small credit back for it. Hope this helps.
