Hi, I am Jenny. Dh is Carl. We homeschool our oldest, CJ who is 13. He has ADD and ODD, and the school turned a blind eye to bullying. And the teachers that followed his 504 saw the A student, the teachers that thought the 504 was joke, saw the failing child. So after my years of begging dh, i finally am able to HS him. we took him out last year in the 7th grade, and he is flourishing.
Now I want to HS our dd, who started kindergarten. And DH doesn't want overwhelm me....and she is very social and he doesn't want to take school away. He doesn't see she would still be social, and that me running to her school, in the middle of our own homeschool day, to volunteer and be present in her school, takes a bigger toll on me.
Hi Jenny, I am Sheila. My child has autism and mr. This is my first yr. to home school. I find it very rewarding, but also very very stressfull. I have been down with surgery, and I am now having a hard time at getting her back to the beat! I try to get up a bit earlier than her, so I can have some me time.
Well I am off to plan the day. I hope you have a wonderful day.
My name is Sussie and I recently found out that my oldest son (6 yrs old) has dyslexia. It was overwhelming to hear, but my husband has it as well so the only thing new about dealing with it is that I am dealing with a 6 year old instead of a 38 year old. He possibly has ADD or ADHD which doesn't help when trying to get him to understand that he needs to do more to understand it. My husband has never been pushed to learn how to overcome some of his dyslexia until he met me. I have pushed him and pushed him and he even said that since he met me he has learn more in seven years then in 30 years. I have been pushing my son as well, to read more and try just a little bit harder. Of course, he feels having me help him (do it for him) is the easier route, but I keep pushing him to do it on his own. I'm hoping he tries harder soon and brings his grades up before he gets left behind in the 1st grade...
Hello! I'm Brandy, a single, homeschooling, work at home mom to two wonderful kids. I have a daughter who is in second grade and excels at many things. I also have a son who is in kindergarten. We are currently undergoing testing for dyslexia with him as he is showing many of the markers for it. I look forward to getting to know you ladies better.
