Layering Bright Colors and Patterns

Matching green, hot pink and orange? Pairing leopard print with plaid? Good news for kids who insist on making their own “creative” combos: this season, they’ve got the right idea!

This fall is about bright colors and the best way to sport them is to have several patterns and shades mixed together to create an individual, eclectic look, Zuckerman says.

Beth Gumm of the design team at popular clothing store Gymboree says to try “color on color: Mixed up brights put together in new color combinations.” We think a mustard yellow sweater dress paired with lime green boots would make the cutest duo.

My DD loves to mix pattern and color.  She's very good at it and usually comes up with cute outfits that way.

My daughter has dressed like this for years.

It is silly how people act like this is a fresh and new idea when really it is just being recycled from 20-30 years ago.

My daughter loves doing this and she also likes throwing stripes, plaids, and solids all together.
