The cost of 2nd grade?

Right now our DD is in a private school and the cost is reasonable, even more so because DH is alumni and gets a 25% discount.  We end up paying just under $3,000 a year for a good elementary education. Next year we have to move north to another town for a year for DH to do a year in a particular med school program and I just found out the cost of the comparable school (we want her back at this school eventually, so we need a program that would be an easy transition back and forth) would cost $6,500 for second grade!! WTH?! Is that normal?

see, that seems reasonable to me, but I was home schooled so even in high school the max cost of my annual education topped out at $800. haha!

Private schools can be really expensive. I went to catholic school and my tuition was about 1,000 per year. My cousin went to catholic school in a different area and her tuition was about 11,000! My dd goes to the same school I did. We pay about 2,500 annual tuition.

My cousin's school taught all the same stuff mine did. She went to this school from kindergarten through high school. After graduation she went to college and became a registered nurse. I personally feel her tuition was outrageous.

yeah, I know some of it depends on the average cost of living in that particular area, too. My SIL is a nurse and went to the school our DD currently goes too.
