We keep a grocery budget every month. I buy a lot of store brand.

No junk. Chips are so expensive.

No boxed stuff

No sugary drinks, sodas, juice or bottle water.

I use coupons (most stores near me will double up to a 75 cent coupon), comparison shop, buy in bulk, buy things when they're on sale to put away for later, buy generic brands, etc.

I meal plan and only go go grocery shopping once a week.  It's the little in between trips that can really kill a budget.
