dishes: hand wash or dishwasher?

I try to use the dishwasher as much as possible, but somethings just don't fit.
I hate letting df wash dishes by hand though and he can't load the dishwasher properly.

We don't have a dishwasher. I do a better job washing stuff than my mom does, uck! half the time there's this gray film on the dishes after she does them *shudder* i can't tell if it's cause her eyesight is getting bad, or she's just lazy -.-

After df does dishes they are all filmy and gross. And he insists that i load the dishwasher and then he will wash what doesn't fit.
I end up putting halfthe stuff h he washes back in the dirty pile to go through the dishwasher.

With how df cooks I'd be miserable without one. He insists that you can't serve, cook, and store in the same container. I agree when we have company but when its just us there is nothing wrong with serving veggies out of the pot they were cooked in.

Hand.

Our dishwasher uses far more water (and power) than doing them by hand, and takes a lot longer, too (the rinsing, loading, unloading, re-washing parts.)

I timed it.

We need to get a new dishwasher because the one we have doesn't do a great job.

If i hand washed all our dishes I'd spend a good 2-3 hours each day washing dishes, unless it was a leftovers day.
