The fridge caught fire!

My parents fridge caught on fire! Thankfully they were home and noticed it fast. The fridge is a loss but there was no damage to the house. The fire department came and checked everything out. They said the cause was the motor in the freezer.

My dad is going to contact Sears (its their brand Kenmore) to see if its a problem with the model. My mom has developed a grudge against Sears and their customer service (or lack of it)so she's really really not happy with this.
They're both just happy the damage wasn't worse.

That's scary. It's good that only the fridge was lost.

That's scary.  Glad they were home and were able to contain the damage to only the fridge.

Wow good thing they were home. That is not something you would expect to happen.

I know...especially considering the fridge isn't even 10 yes old yet.

My dad was making jokes about all the poor food that was lost. He has a good sense of humor.

Wow, crazy! how old was the fridge? Glad that there was no major loss, but still quite scary.

Just shy of 8 years...they purchased it brand new.
