Chuck says the way to keep your kid's nose away from the screen is to limit the time to 1 hour per day.

Our kids love being physically active so we don't have a problem with their screen time.

I don't really need to limit it.  I just make sure we are active and then when there is downtime they are allowed to relax and enjoy it.  If it seems to get to much I just pull out some crafts or play a game with them.

I have a timer that I set to limit video game time.

They know that screen time is limited and if they want to do more they don't fuss when I say it's time to turn it off.

I set the oven timer and when it goes off, time's up!

I just tell my dd when time is up and she just turns off whatever she's on and does something else.

I do allow them to do it more on some days then others too.

We don't have any  rules set up, we are busy so some days we have very little time and some days I let the have lazy days iniside to watch tv. They never complain when I say tv time is up and even when I let them have extra time the tv is on but they are usually playing in the same room.

I don't really have a problem with my kids and screen time.  They would rather be doing other things.

DD won't ever have a limit. We don't have video game systems, ipads or ipods. TV is the only screen time she'll get and it's always on, cartoons or not.
