My rules will be simple.
Treat a girl like a day.
Do things you enjoy
Make sure you have enough money for the date.
I have to meet the girl

There are definitely rules for dating around here.  We have to know who you are going out with and their parents, you have to be home at a certain time, and if the date picks you up they have to come to the door for you...not honk the horn for you to come out.

There are a few others, but these are the main ones.

Help them feel confident about who they are so that they can say no to peer pressure.

I like Chuck's rules. :) I would expect my sons to follow those, too.

That's good advice!

Quoting 4kidz916:

I like his rules but I'm not as strict about the no texting.  Kids these days only seem to know how to communicate online or by text.  I also taught my oldest daughter that the guy should pay if he asks you out but I also told her that if she got on the date and didn't like the direction it was heading (ie, he gave off the vibe that he may expect something in return since he was treating her) then she should be prepared to say that's ok, I've got my check.

It scares me too!

My kids are so young but I think the world of dating is changing so fast it scares me, lol.
