How Do You Catch Olympic Fever?

Posted by   + Show Post

Watching the Olympics together has the potential to be a great family bonding experience. But with the celebrity culture surrounding some sports today, it's hard to get kids excited about unknown athletes and unusual sports. How do you share your Olympic spirit with your kids?

IDK, I'm immune to it, so guess no one will catch it from me!

I'm sure he will. My mom has cable, so if the hockey games aren't on regular TV, I'm sure we can watch those games at her house. His main sport is hockey. In fact, he is at practice right now.

Quoting Barabell: My son does winter sports, so he enjoys watching them on TV. We watch some of the Olympics. We are really looking forward to seeing the hockey games. We don't have cable, so I hope we will still see most of the Team USA games.

I hope he gets to watch some the games. I know my dd loves to watch to ballet and cheerleaders because "they're the same as here"

My dh and I always watch the Olympics, we watch a lot of sports so the kids are used to us having sports on. We are huge hockey fans so they know about Olympic hockey and recently I got my dd into watching figure skating so she is excited about that. I don't know how much our kids will watch but I think they will watch more than previous years.

They don't get all geeked out over specific people, they just enjoy the sports  they're super excited about the Olympics and all the cool events.

I think it helps them see what they can accomplish when we work hard enough.  They are in awe of what the athletes can do.
