Do you get them often where you live?

We never get rain in the summer here, we generally don't even get much rain in the winter but it's been pouring all night and morning. It feels amazing to have a break from the heat!

We do sometimes.  Usually they're accompanied by a hurricane (southern VA) brewing somewhere.

We get microbursts and haboobs. I think the haboobs may be done for the summer, we've had a series of microbursts lately. Trees are being uprooting all over the place, cable lines are crashing, freeways are closing, and boat loads of people are losing power.

Very rarely. Maybe a small one every 10 years.

This summer here in East Texas we've had these long rainy spells that last for days and then a couple weeks of nothing and then more rain for days and then nothing- so one and so forth. I can't remember a summer with so much rain like this one. I love that it brings the temperature down, but the humidity level stays ridicuclously high in between those rainy spells.
