Pinewood Derby craft

Help! I need a craft to do at the pack meeting the night before our Pinewood derby. Any suggestions?

What about making racing helmets out of paper bags?  

We never do crafts at our pack meetings, so I really don't know what might work well.  

Maybe you could also have them decorate staging bricks, like little blocks or numbers you'll have behind the cars before they race?

I take it this is for a gathering activity?

Check your $1 store for coloring/activity books based on race cars. Copy a bunch of the pages and put them out along with containers of crayons.

Make copies of sheets of race car outlines. Cut into squares with individual cars. Have them color cars. Glue to similarly sized squares of cardboard. attach loop to back of cardboard to make necker slides.

Have everyone make their own, personalized racing flag. Use the flags to decorate at the PWD race the next day.

Have coloring books for sibs. Do driver licenses for the Scouts. Photo ones are great if you have the capability.
