I've been having a tough time finding stories for Wolf achievement #7e.  The achievement states "Find three stories that tell how people are protecting our world"  Anyone like to share ideas with me?

My sons get the national Geographic for kids.  it always has some stories.  here is the webiste, maybe you can find something on there & print it out.

http://kids.nationalgeographic.com/

Also, check boys' life magazine for good articles.  It is always helpful for the boys to see other scouts doing things to help our environment.  Here is the link for that:

Hope this helps a little!

Do you have access to a public library? I used my county's public library website and reserved some books and a dvd then went and picked them up. I can't remember the books we used because it was a few years ago (my son is now a Webelos II) .I remember one was about a Native American trying to help the environment and the other was about children recycling and the dvd was about the recycling process from home to pickup to facility  to it actually being reused, (it was geared towards children).

I also often just go to the public library and ask the children's librarians for help. They usually know of the perfect books for whatever subject we are on.  Also my son's teacher was always more than happy to help me with books from her vast classroom library or point me in the right direction.

Good luck!

We found an artical on the internet about protection of endagered species and who is involved.

We found an artical about oil spills in the oceans and how some people are trying to protect the animals that are affected by that.

We found a artical an the internet about the ozone layer and those involved in education about protecting it.

These were interesting topics, my son enjoyed them.  We made copies for the parents that were having problems in our group and handed them out to take home and read with their parents.   The articals were relatively short.
